Mark Martorano

President

Mark is a retired public safety professional and consultant who moved to Suntree in 1999. He has an extensive background in law enforcement, security and project management. He is also President of the Waterford Pointe sub-association.

Mark has been a member of the board since 2022 and Vice President since 2023. He currently chairs the Ground Maintenance committee, is a member of the finance committee and previously served as Treasurer.

Ron Fargnoli

Ron has been a board member since 2021 and Secretary since 2023. He is a retired senior project executive with Gilbane Building Company with a thirty-six-year career in the construction industry, primarily executing construction management along with design build and self-perform projects.

Ron serves as chair of the Planning Committee, where he can use his background in construction management to help with planning for capital improvements and repairs. He is also a member of the Finance Committee.

Marvin Jackson

Marvin joined the board in 2015, but has been involved with the Sabal Palm Estates sub-assocation since 1998 and currently serves as their President. He and his wife Pat are retired from AT&T, where he worked as both an installer and manager. Together they have a blended family with three children and five grandchildren. He was orginally born in Macon Georgia, but moved to Miami shortly after and has lived in Brevard County since 1980.
Dr. Joanna Bass

Dr. Bass has been a resident of Suntree since 1982, and previously served six years on the SMHA board. She rejoined the board in 2023 and chairs the Community Relations Committee and serves on the Government Relations Committee.

She previously represented Suntree interests at Brevard County development and Viera expansion meetings, and whenever our Suntree community would be environmentally affected such as: Pineda Extensions, Wickham Road Extension, and Viera growth impact meetings.

Sally Contess

Sally is a native New Yorker who moved to Suntree in 1987. She is a graduate of Rollins College and is a licensed real estate agent with Elite Real Estate in Suntree. Prior to real estate, she worked in the Brevard County schools as well as not-for-profits. She has chaired the Community Relations Committee and currently chairs the Covenant Enforcement Committee.

Sally was a board member from 2012 to 2016 and has been again since 2018. She also previously served as President from September 2015 to March 2016.

Richard Denza

Richard and his wife Janice have been Florida residents since 2002. He joined the SMHA board in 2023, having previously served on the boards of Greenbriar Place and Sonesta Walk in Melbourne and Lost Lakes in Cocoa.

Richard is a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division and an ex-police officer with the Pleasantville Police Department in New Jersey. He was also a certified district justice within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and served eighteen years on the city council in Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, including nine years as President. Since moving to Florida and prior to retirement, he supervised independent security in Melbourne International Airport and held security positions within the cruise industry.

Richard serves as chair of the Architectural Review and Stormwater committees, and is also a member of the Grounds Maintenance and Legal committees.

Joseph R. Grutta

Joseph has been a board member since 2021 and has helped with revamping our website. He has been a member of the Finance Committee since 2020 and is a past chair of the Storm Water and Architectural Review committees.

Joseph is the principal of Nautic Studios, which offers web marketing and IT services, and the creator of Far or Near, a social networking service for hobby enthusiasts. He attended the University of Florida and holds a master’s degree in Information Systems and Operations Management and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Scott Ratliff

Scott is a native Floridian, originally from Jacksonville. He has traveled throughout the State of Florida, serving and protecting its residents. Scott is recognized for his negotiating, communication and team building skills and holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice.

Scott has served on the SMHA board since 2018 and serves as the chair of the Government Relations committee.
